Reinventing Work with Women over 40

National-Louis University’s Center for Positive Aging, The Transition Network, and the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau announces Project Second Act™ a workshop program to advance the economic success of women over the age of 40.

Chicago / Lisle, IL - Women over 40 are reinventing their relationship with work. Whether they’ve been a career woman, a committed volunteer, or just sent off their last child to school, many are now looking to launch a new life for themselves in the world of work. In collaboration, the NLU Center for Positive Aging, The Transition Network and U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau have created a brand new workshop series, Project Second Act™ for women ready to create their next chapter of life and increase their economic security.

PROJECT SECOND ACT ACCEPTING REGISTRANTS

Women who want to start a new job or career, return to the workforce, get promoted, start a business, obtain a degree or explore alternative work options will benefit from this program. Participants will attend six sessions to increase personal awareness and self confidence, identify talents, dreams and desires, choose actionable goals, and develop their personal action plan to reach their goals.

More than just a series of classes, each participant will be paired with a personal mentor, have online resources and a supportive group and social environment.

WHERE AND WHEN

Project Second Act is offered in a choice of National-Louis University Illinois campuses including Downtown Chicago, Lisle, Skokie and Wheeling.

First program begins in Lisle, Illinois on Saturday morning, October 20, 2007.

Group sessions meet from 9:30am - 12:00 noon for 6 sessions on
10-20-07, 10-27-07, 11-3-07, 11-10-07, 11-17-07, 12-1-07.
(No session on 11-24-07 during Thanksgiving Week.)

REGISTRATION AND FEES

  • Fee of $100 covers 6 group sessions and program materials
  • Only 25 participants will be accepted at each pilot location
